ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the care of those patients assigned to him or her. This position will perform the assessment, manage the patient's care in accordance with the assessment and the physicians orders, maintain current record keeping and chart update as mandated for licensing, and participate in research, education activities, and product evaluations.

1. Prepares the patient care area for assigned patient by reviewing the patient's treatment orders and gathering the supplies needed for the treatment.
2. Maintains professional working relationship with other staff. Brings to the attention of the RN any unusual findings or patient problems. Receives orders from the RN and carries out interventions necessary to achieve optimum patient outcome.
3. Continues to further own education by attending inservices, classes and seminars through self decision or as requested by the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager.
4. Documents all patient status changes in the progress notes, including patient admission to and discharge from the hospital.
